Wellness Resolutions is different. They offer personal, tailor made nutrition plans. (I was skeptical at first.) But now, my clothes fit better and many people have complimented my improvements. I now have more energy, and with that, I look forward to new challenges. They taught me not only how to eat but also self-maintenance. I now keep busy with life. Frequently Asked Questions

Are nutritionist covered by insurance?

Yes! People often ask are nutritionist covered by insurance? In most cases, your in-person, phone and online nutrition coaching sessions are 100% covered by insurance with no out-of-pocket costs!

Not to mention, our insurance specialist handles all the billing and communication with your insurance company so that you can focus on the health goals you’ve set for yourself.

In cases where our nutrition services are not 100% covered by insurance, payment options are available for any out-of-pocket costs.

In which states do you provide online nutrition coaching sessions?

We provide virtual telehealth nutrition consultations to clients living in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida and New York. If you are located outside of those states, you are not eligible for our online dietitian services.

Telehealth appointments are conducted via phone call or video chat (Zoom).

Do you provide in-person nutrition consultations?
Yes! If you are looking for a nutritionist in Rhode Island, we are located in North Providence. All clients are welcome to come to our office for an in-person visit.

Our physical address:
1635 Mineral Spring Ave., Suite #205
North Providence, Rhode Island 02904

I have several health conditions. Can your team accommodate my needs?
Yes! Our team of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists is formally trained and equipped to help you manage and improve many different health conditions, see our services page for more details. We do a lot of work with diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), high cholesterol, celiac disease and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). We can help you better understand dietary recommendations and find relief of unwanted symptoms.
How fast can I expect to lose weight with my personal nutritionist?
With our “eat, don’t diet” philosophy, we do not provide crash diets and quick-fixes. Why? Because they simply don’t work. In fact, while you might see rapid weight loss with certain fad diets, most people regain all the weight (and more) a few months or years later.

We immediately help you stop the weight loss rollercoaster, stop the crazy diets and stop the stress you feel around food. Instead, we help you transform how you eat so that it’s enjoyable, sustainable, flexible and effective in achieving your weight loss goals.

Can a nutritionist prescribe medication for weight loss such as Ozempic, Wegovy or Zepbound? Do you prescribe supplements?

Across the board, Registered Dietitians and Nutritionists can NOT prescribe any medications (including weight loss drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy of Zepbound). However, we can and will communicate with and make recommendations to your medical team if we feel this may be a good option for you.

When it comes to supplements and meal replacements, these are used on a case-by-case basis. After our initial assessment, your customized nutrition plan will include recommendations that are meant to provide lasting change with an emphasis on real food. For some people meal replacement shakes may be a good option, but they are not for everyone.

Do you have specialists like a diabetes dietitian OR a bariatric nutritionist on staff?

Yes! We have Registered Dietitians (RD/RDN) who are also Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE) and that have experience as a bariatric nutritionist. Our team can create a customized nutrition plan and clarify how to manage diabetes. A bariatric nutritionist can help you manage your weight before or after surgery.

Many clients with diabetes come to us confused and frustrated by their medication regimen and don’t understand what they can and can’t eat. With our “eat, don’t diet” approach, we formulate an eating style that allows you to manage your blood sugar, lose weight (if applicable) and still enjoy the foods you love.

How long are the in-person, phone or online nutrition coaching sessions?
Your initial nutrition consultation is about 90 minutes. This is where we dive into your goals, dietary preferences, current eating behaviors and what kinds of changes would be practical for your lifestyle. From there, you’ll leave with a customized nutrition plan that you can begin right away.

Follow-up appointments range from 30-60 minutes, depending on your availability. We can definitely get things done and make improvements in a 30-minute session! Many of our clients book a video chat or phone call appointment during their lunch break, and we’re happy to accommodate.

How often do I meet with my personal nutritionist?
Just like your customized nutrition plan, scheduling your follow-up appointments is flexible too. If you are more of an independent and self-directed person, you may be able to extend the time between appointments. If you need more support and ongoing communication, we recommend checking in more often.

In general, if you’re working with a dietitian for weight loss, we advise being seen every 1-2 weeks. If you’re managing health conditions (like working with our diabetes dietitian, for example) we advise being seen every 2-4 weeks.

For many of our patients, check-ins are more frequent in the beginning. Then, as they make improvements and get comfortable with their nutrition plan, follow-up nutrition coaching can be completed via 1-4 nutrition wellness checks per year.
